Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto have been married for 14 years, and here is what the actress shared about Dina Bonnevie, her mother-in-law.
In an interview before, veteran actress Dina Bonnevie shared that she has her own way of building strong relationships with her in-laws, Kristine Hermosa and Marc Pingris. She highlighted the significance of setting clear boundaries and practicing a thoughtful communication style.
With Hermosa, she shared that she makes it a point not to give unsolicited advice on personal matters such as clothing choices or household arrangements. There are boundaries set by the reality that she is not her daughter by blood. What she does is speak directly to her children when she sees there’s something wrong, and she lets her children do the explaining, not their partners.
Recently, Hermosa spoke about Bonnevie as a mother-in-law, and according to her, they have some traits alike. According to her, Bonnevie is very blunt and straightforward—qualities she also sees in herself—which is why they often get along well.
“Sabi ko, ‘Ay, just understand.’ Natatawa nga ako sa pagka-straightforward niya, e. Kasi totoo lang siya talaga. And ganun din ako, so, nagkakaintidihan kami ni Mama D,” she expressed.
Kristine and Oyo have been married since 2011. They have six kids. They first met in 2004 when they starred in the first “Enteng Kabisote” movie. They welcomed their sixth child last year, named Isaiah Timothy. Their only girl is Ondrea, and their other children are Kristian Daniel “Kiel,” Marvic Valentin, and Vittorio Isaac.
Kristine admitted that she thought her fifth child, Isaac, would be their last but surprises came when she found out she was pregnant again at 40. It is their choice to have many children as they are happy to be raising a big family together.
