Korina Sanchez had three wishes for her birthday
Veteran journalist Korina Sanchez had this striking birthday wish regarding the recent corruption issue in the Philippines.
Korina celebrated her 61st birthday on October 5. She had a birthday celebration on her program on the Bilyonaryo News Channel. She was greeted by her fellow news anchors, and three birthday cakes were prepared for her.
One of the cakes was handed by her fellow news anchor, Pinky Webb. Korina was delighted with the cakes she got.
“Ang daming cake! Ang daming calories! I love the calories, that’s my best friend!” Korina Sanchez said. The veteran journalist shared her three birthday wishes for her 61st birthday, since she had three cakes. She was also given two bouquets.
First and foremost, she said, “Una, sana makulong ang dapat lang makulong. At dapat, ma-vindicate ‘yung mga dapat na inosente.”
Her second wish is about her husband, Mar Roxas. She wished her husband would love her forever. Korina’s third wish was not just about her but also about her colleagues. “At sana, tayong lahat sa Bilyonaryo News Channel ay maging mga totoong mga bilyonaryo!” Korina Sanchez said. The veteran journalist shared a video of this on her Facebook page.
Prior to Korina’s birthday wish regarding corrupt officials, Kapuso journalist Kara David had a birthday wish that went viral. She said that all the corrupt should die, and many netizens echoed her wish. Even Bubble Gang character Ciala Dismaya echoed Kara’s wish.
Kapamilya actress Maris Racal also had a wish regarding the corruption issue in the country. Her wish was acronymed “DPWH,” which stood for “Di Pwede ang Walang Hustisya” (No to No Justice).
The officials and those connected to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) had been receiving criticism because of the anomalous flood control projects.
