This is what Vice Ganda said about “misgendering.”
Is it a big deal if people call her “Sir?” ABS-CBN superstar Vice Ganda has this to say about those people who address her this way.
In a previous article, a misgendered LGBT member had a waiter stand for hours. This happened last year, and people online were mad over this mistreatment of a server by the personality whose name is Jude Bacalso.

The waiter was forced to stand for two hours and was traumatized because of the embarrassment he got from the incident.
What has transpired brought extreme rage to various social media platforms, and based on a previous article, Bacalso had apologized because of what happened. Bacalso admitted that she could have approached her advocacy with more kindness and apologized for the issue’s public escalation. She issued a public apology and conveyed her intention to personally apologize to the waiter involved.
For Vice Ganda, a well-known and well-loved member of the community, has found “misgendering” not a problem at all for her. In the noontime show, It’s Showtime, she has been addressed as “Sir” by several contestants. She would make jokes and banter about it, but in reality, it wasn’t really a big deal for her.
Vice is not bothered.
Explaining why it was not an issue, she said, “Actually, for once and for all, let’s normalize me being called sir, para hindi na nagiging katatawanan ‘pag tinatawag akong ‘sir’ kasi okey lang sa akin na tawaging ‘sir’.”
The superstar comedian expressed that there’s no need for an apology when contestants mistakenly call him “Sir.” This claim has drawn praise online for being lighthearted and respectful. Netizens admire how she was not sensitive when it comes to matters like this.
