PAGASA Says LPA Inside PAR May Intensify Into Tropical Depression
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area inside the PAR may become a tropical depression.
On Wednesday (October 1, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather Specialist Loriedin de la Cruz reported that a low-pressure area was last spotted 1,080 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon. It has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression.

The LPA will be named Paulo once it becomes a tropical depression. It has no direct effect yet on the country.
“And if this develops into a tropical cyclone, we will name it Typhoon Paulo,” de la Cruz said.
“Samantala, yung LPA na minomonitor natin ay pumasok na po ng ating area of responsibility kagabi at around 6 p.m. at ngayon nakita ang kanyang sentro sa layong 1,080 km silangan ng Southeastern Luzon,” he explained.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Aurora, and Quezon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.
“Kaya’t mannatili po tayong nakantabay sa magiging update ng pagasa ukol dito sa weather disturbance dahil as soon as maging bagyo po itong weather disturbance na ito o LPA na ito, ay agad-agad po tayong mag-issue ng tropical cyclone bulletin para po sa ating guidance,” he added.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
