Major Roads in Tuba, Benguet Temporarily Closed Due to Multiple Landslides

The multiple landslides in Tuba, Benguet forced the temporary closure of major roads in the area, causing inconvenience to residents and travelers.

On Monday (September 22, 2025), Benguet residents faced heavy challenges after multiple landslides forced the temporary closure of major roads in Tuba.

Marcos Highway, one of the main routes connecting Benguet to nearby provinces, was blocked following two landslides that occurred along the stretches of Barangays Begis, Poblacion, Baw-ek, and Taloy Sur.

Aside from this, Kennon Road also became impassable after fallen trees and tangled power lines covered sections of the road. The incident left motorists stranded and forced them to take longer alternate routes.

Local officials, together with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Tuba, immediately started clearing operations. Barangay officials joined the efforts to speed up the process and ensure the safety of the public.

While there is no clear timeline yet for when the roads will fully reopen, authorities are working nonstop to restore normal passage.

The residents captured videos of the intense flow of water at Bridal Veil Falls along Kennon Road. Along with the rushing waters, large rocks and debris from the mountainside also came crashing down, making the area dangerous for travelers.

Currently, the local government is reminding the public to avoid the affected areas until they are declared safe. Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes and remain cautious as weather conditions may still trigger further landslides.
