Class Suspensions for Monday (September 22, 2025) Due to Super Typhoon Nando

WALANG PASOK – Various local government units declared class suspensions in several areas due to Super Typhoon Nando. 

Super Typhoon Nando, also called Ragasa internationally, has caused the suspensions of work and classes in many parts of the country. With maximum sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 250 kph, the government placed safety as its top priority. 

Malacañang declared that government work would be suspended in 30 areas, except for offices providing essential and emergency services. Employees in non-vital roles may shift to alternative work setups, while private companies were given discretion to decide on their own suspensions.

The suspension order covered the following areas:

  • Bulacan 
  • Cagayan 
  • Cavite 
  • Ifugao 
  • Ilocos Norte 
  • Ilocos Sur

  • Kalinga 
  • La Union 
  • Laguna 
  • Mountain Province 
  • Nueva Ecija 
  • Nueva Vizcaya 
  • Occidental Mindoro 
  • Oriental Mindoro 
  • Pampanga 
  • Pangasinan 
  • Palawan 
  • Romblon 
  • Rizal 
  • Tarlac 
  • Zambales 

Classes were also suspended in many regions. In Metro Manila, all cities and schools, from preschool to college, announced a shift to either full cancellation of in-person classes or alternative delivery modes. 

Class Suspensions

CALABARZON provinces including Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal followed suit, while Quezon implemented partial suspensions depending on the municipality. 

Similar measures were declared in the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and MIMAROPA, where all schools at every level were affected. Some local governments also added vehicle and transportation adjustments to help communities move more safely. 

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommended the measures after warning the public for possible flooding, landslides, and other hazards as Nando continued to intensify. 

Authorities reminded the public to follow official announcements and remain alert while the storm passes.
