PAGASA: Signal No. 5 Raised Over Babuyan Islands Due to Super Typhoon Nando 

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (September 22, 2025) 

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that signal no. 5 was raised over the Babuyan Islands due to Super Typhoon Nando.  

On Monday (September 22, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Super Typhoon Nando will affect the country’s weather conditions.  

PAGASA reported that Super Typhoon Nando further intensified as it moved closer tothe  Babuyan Islands.Nando was last spotted 245 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.

The super typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 250 kph. It is expected to make landfall over the Babuyan Islands between noon and early afternoon.

The weather agency has raised tropical cyclone wind signals in the following areas: 

Signal No. 5 

  • The northern portion of Babuyan Islands (Babuyan Isl., Didicas Isl., Panuitan Isl., Calayan Isl.) 

Signal No. 4  

  • The southeastern portion of Batanes, the rest of Babuyan Islands, and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan 

Signal No. 3 

  • The rest of Batanes 
  • Northern and central portions of mainland Cagayan 
  • The northern and central portions of Apayao 
  • Northern and central portions of Ilocos Norte 

Signal No. 2 

  • The rest of Cagayan, Isabela 
  • Rest of Apaya 
  • Abra 
  • Kalinga 
  • Mountain Province 
  • Ifugao 
  • The northern portion of Benguet (Mankayan, Buguias, Bakun, Kibungan) 
  • The northeastern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Diadi) 
  • The rest of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur 
  • The northern portion of La Union (Sudipen, Bangar, Luna, Balaoan, Santol) 

Signal No. 1 

  • Quirino 
  • the rest of Nueva Vizcay 
  • The rest of Benguet 
  • The rest of La Union 
  • Pangasinan 
  • Aurora 
  • Nueva Ecija 
  • Bulacan 
  • Tarlac 
  • Pampanga 
  • Zambales 
  • The northern portion of Quezon (General Nakar) including Polillo Islands  

Nando is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday morning (September 23, 2025).

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms. 

Fisherfolks are also advised to take precautionary measures during sea ventures due to rough coastal water condition.
