Duterte’s Former Spox Harry Roque Joins the “Convergence Day” in The Hague
HARRY ROQUE – The former spokesman of ex-President Rodrigo Duterte called for the resignation of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and to allow Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to take over.
Former presidential spokesman Roque is still in The Netherlands now despite the warrant of arrest issued against him by a local court in the Philippines. He is one of the Duterte supporters who call for the immediate release of the former Chief Executive.
Recently, following the postponement of the confirmation of charges hearing of the former President before the International Criminal Court, British-Israeli lawyer Nicholas Kaufman claimed that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is allegedly unable to recall events, places, or even members of his family.
According to Kaufman, his client is suffering from a ‘cognitive impairment’ that will remain either static or will deteriorate further even if there will be a medical intervention. They asked the ICC to adjourn all legal proceedings indefinitely.
Recently, amid the Trillion Peso March in the Philippines in the fight against corruption, the Duterte supporters in The Hague held the “Convergence Day”. One of those who attended the said event was former presidential spokesman Harry Roque.
Roque, an asylum seeker in The Hague, claimed that there are allegedly three (3) calls in line with the “Convergence Day”. Based on a report on GMA News, Duterte’s former Spokesman claimed that the ICC charges against the former Chief Executive needs to be dismissed as he no longer has enough strength to face them.
“Tatlo ang panawagan: unang una, palayain si Tatay Digong. Panginoon na ang gumawa ng paraan para siya’y mapakawalan. Wala na po siyang sapat na kakayanan na harapin… Kaya kailangan ma-dismiss na po ang kaso,” Roque said.
According to Harry Roque, the second call is for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to resign from his position. He cited the blatant corruption as well as the alleged neglect of the government. He also claimed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte should be allowed to take over for real changes in the country.
“Pangalawa po, dahil sa lantarang korapsyon dahil sa kapabayaan ng gobyerno, kinakailangan talagang mag-resign na si BBM Marcos Jr. at pangatlo po, naniniwala ako na panahon na ng tunay na pagbabago sa Pilipinas at sa pagbibitiw ni Marcos… hayaan na natin si Sara Duterte,” Duterte’s former Spox said.
Based on the report, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s ex-wife Elizabeth Zimmerman was also present at the event. According to her, the former Chief Executive is okay, fit, and healthy. She also assured his supporters that there is nothing to worry about as there is a doctor and a nurse who always check on the former President.
“Thank you for all the Filipinos all over the world who has been supporting us since March 23, it is overwhelming. Your undying love for the President, for Rodrigo, is so fantastic,” she expressed.
Amid the ICC detention of her father, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently confirmed that a “third country” committed to host the interim release of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
