Sarah Geronimo Speaks Strongly Against Corruption In The Country

In an event, Sarah Geronimo speaks before the crowd

Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo has this to say in front of a crowd regarding the ongoing buzz about corruption in the country.

Sunday’s demonstration in Manila coincided with the anniversary of the 1972 martial law declaration, as President Bongbong Marcos expressed support for the rally in an effort to ease public anger. This anger is towards the massive corruption in the government flood control projects.

Corruption Protest

But this widespread corruption is surely going to have a long journey to take before those who are really accountable and responsible are held.

Many public figures have become outspoken about the matter, and among them is Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo. Before a huge crowd, she bravely spoke her thoughts about the current events going on in the Philippines.

During the UAAP show, Geronimo spoke to the youth about their vital role in standing against corruption and addressing other national issues. She shared that the chaos in the country now is no secret to the people, and with this, she reminded the youth that they are the hope the country is yearning to have to provide the people with a better country to live in.

“Let us all be reminded na kayo, I don’t want to put the pressure on you, ang ating mga kabataan, kayo ang pag-asa ng ating bansa, ng ating bayan,” she said. She expressed her rage that those in power are deceiving the country and that they’re making a fool of us.

One day, kayo ang magbabago ng bulok na sistema ng bansang ito,” Geronimo added.

The 37-year-old star believed that the youth is the hope for the rotten system of the country. She is still hopeful that someday, the Philippines will prosper.

Sarah headlined the concert during the opening ceremony of UAAP Season 88, hosted by the University of Santo Tomas.
