President Marcos Eats Okra Gift He Received from Young Fire Victim
President Marcos is grateful for an okra gift he received from a young fire victim at an evacuation center in Tondo, Manila.
Recently, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. shared a touching moment with a child during his visit to an evacuation center in Tondo, Manila, after a huge fire left thousands of families homeless.
The President personally led the distribution of relief goods to more than 2,000 affected families at General Vicente Lim Elementary School. Amid the visit, he met a young child who handed him a handful of freshly picked okra. The kid’s simple gesture instantly warmed the President’s heart.

Later that evening, the President posted photos of himself on social media, showing the okra as part of his dinner. He also shared a picture of the child in his arms, showing how such a small act of kindness carried deep meaning during a difficult time.
Marcos expressed gratitude for what he called his dinner for the night, given by the child he fondly called Batching.
The scene portrays not just the generosity of a child who had lost so much, but also the importance of valuing even the simplest of gifts. It showed how compassion can shine through in times of hardship, proving that kindness does not depend on wealth or possessions.
