Cherry Pie Picache Shares Update on Friendship w/ Ex Edu Manzano
CHERRY PIE PICACHE – Veteran actress Cherry Pie Picache believes that some relationships are better off as friendships, as she shared how she and Edu Manzano have remained civil and supportive of each other despite ending their romance for good.
Cherry Pie Picache has clarified that while she and former partner Edu Manzano share a warm and friendly relationship, rekindling their romance is not something she sees happening. The two stars, who were first romantically linked around 20 years ago, reunited in 2021 but eventually ended their relationship again after two years—this time on amicable terms.
At the press conference for The Last BeerGin in Quezon City, Picache highlighted that their bond has remained strong even after parting ways. “Okay na kami, hindi naman kami nag-away or anything. Maayos,” she shared, stressing that their lack of conflict helped preserve their friendship.

She went on to add, “Na-maintain ang friendship kasi hindi naman kami nag-away, he’s a good man. Maayos kami, walang away.”
Speculation about the two resurfaced last August when they were seen dining together at a Marikina restaurant. According to Picache, that encounter marked their first face-to-face meeting in more than two years, although they continued to exchange messages during that time. “After two years and a half, nagkita na kami, okay naman, we’re good friends. Hindi lang siguro nagkakataon na nagkaroon ng chance na magkita,” she explained.
For her, the reunion was nothing more than a happy catch-up. “I’m just happy. I’m happy to see him, I’m happy that he’s well. I’m happy that everything is fine with him. I think that he’s also happy for me that everything is going on well sa life ko. We’re happy for each other.”
When asked if she would consider giving their love story another chance, Picache was clear: “Wala (No).” She also mentioned that Manzano has been supportive of her finding new love. “He has a girlfriend and [we’re] growing up, may sarili siyang buhay, so gusto niya siguro na may makasama rin ako, may maging katuwang ako.”

Talking about her own romantic life, the actress revealed, “I’m single. I’m ready to mingle. God has been very good to me. I don’t have any complaints, but it would be nicer [if I have someone]. I’m not actually dating, hindi ako mahilig makipag-date (I’m not fond of it), but I’m not closing my doors. If I meet someone, but I like going out in groups.”
Picache is set to appear in The Last BeerGin, which also features Xyriel Manabat, Zaijian Jaranilla, Pepe Herrera, and JC Santos. The film was written by Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario and directed by Nuel Naval.
