PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (September 18, 2025) 

PAGASA Says Tropical Depression Mirasol to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Tropical Depression Mirasol will bring rains over parts of the country. 

On Thursday (September 18, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Mirasol will affect the country’s weather condition. 

PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Mirasol is moving west northwestward over the sea west of extreme Northern Luzon.

Mirasol was last spotted 165 kilometers West of Calayan, Cagayan, moving with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up 70 kph. It is moving generally west northwestward within the next 24 hours. 

The tropical depression is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday morning or afternoon.

Tropical cyclone wind signal no. 1 was raised in the following areas: 

  • Batanes 
  • Babuyan Islands 
  • the western portion of mainland Cagayan (Santo Niño, Camalaniugan, Pamplona, Rizal, Claveria, Lasam, Aparri, Ballesteros, Abulug, Allacapan, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Praxedes) 
  • Apayao 
  • The northern portion of Abra (Pidigan, San Juan, Tayum, Langiden, Lagangilang, Danglas, La Paz, Licuan-Baay, Tineg, Malibcong, Peñarrubia, San Isidro, San Quintin, Dolores, Lagayan, Bangued, Bucay, Lacub, Sallapadan) 
  • Ilocos Norte 
  • The northern portion of Ilocos Sur (Sinait, Cabugao, San Juan, Magsingal, Santo Domingo, Bantay, San Vicente, San Ildefonso, Santa Catalina, City of Vigan, Caoayan, Santa, Nagbukel, Narvacan) 

Tropical Depression Mirasol will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Ilocos Region, rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, rest of Cagayan Valley, Zambales, and Bataan.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Nando was located at 1,225 kilometers East of Southeastern Luzon. It packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 70 kph. 

Nando will bring gusty winds to Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, and Babuyan Islands. 

The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA and Western Visayas. It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. 

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the rest of the country, according to PAGASA.
