PAGASA Says Tropical Depression Mirasol Will Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Tropical Depression Mirasol has made a landfall in Casigura, Aurora.
On Wednesday (September 17, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Mirasol will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Mirasol has made landfall in Casigura, Aurora. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour with gusts up to 90 kph, moving northwest at 10 kph.

Mirasol is expected to re-emerge over the Luzon Strait this afternoon or evening. The tropical cyclone is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday morning or afternoon (September 18, 2025).
“Mirasol will maintain its strength or will slightly weaken as it crosses the Northern Luzon landmass. Once it is over the Luzon Strait, it is forecast to intensify and may reach tropical storm category by tomorrow Thursday morning,” Pagasa said.
The weather agency has raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in the following areas:
- Batanes
- Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
- Isabela
- Quirino
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Northern and central portions of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler, Maria Aurora, San Luis)
- Apayao
- Abra
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Northern and eastern portions of Benguet (Bakun, Mankayan, Kabayan, Buguias, Kibungan, Atok, Bokod)
- locos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- Polillo Islands
The tropical depression will bring rains with gusty winds over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Polillo Islands.
Mirasol will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, rest of Ilocos Region, rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of CALABARZON.
The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country, according to PAGASA.
