PAGASA Says Easterlies and LPA to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies and a low-pressure area will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Monday (September 15, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and a low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Daniel Villamil reported that a low-pressure area was last spotted 235 kilometers west of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

Due to the effect of the easterlies, or winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, expect a high chance of overcast skies and scattered rain in Cagayan Valley,” Villamil said.

The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Western Visayas.

In the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon [Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon], and Mimaropa [Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan], scattered rain showers and thunderstorms from the LPA are expected today,” Villamil added.

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Cagayan Valley and extreme Northern Luzon.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.

Generally fair weather conditions will continue over most of Mindanao, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and chances of afternoon to evening rain showers or thunderstorms expected in these areas,” he added.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition across the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA
