Bela Padilla does not aspire to do theater
Multihyphenate Bela Padilla revealed the reason why she is hesitant to even try to be a theater actress.
Bela wears many hats. Aside from being an actress, she is also a writer and a director. Just recently, she also tried producing. With so many roles she portrayed in front and behind the camera, there was one thing she would not want to try anytime soon, and it is being a theater actress.
In a recent interview for her movie 100 Awit Para Kay Stella with her co-star JC Santos, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, the Kapamilya star admitted that it is not in her list of goals to do theater.
Bela Padilla cited her reason for not aspiring to be in theater, for now, but she is not closing her doors.
“Maybe one day in the future, but kasi, honestly, first, I have terrible stage fright. Second, I’m super forgetful, and my attention span is so short,” she said.
With this, Bela felt like she would just forget every show, and she would forget the lines. She shared that most of the time, she would forget her routine, and this included her bonding time with her friends.
On the other hand, the actress stressed that when it comes to her lines when filming, she would memorize them well.
The actress even shared that she would easily forget a person’s name whom she met two days ago, but this is not the same case when it comes to her lines in movies, even the lines of her co-stars.
Despite her hesitation, JC, who has been doing theater for many years now, encouraged her that there is no harm in trying. He said that having him as a co-actor on stage, Bela can do it well.
“Kung ako naman kasama mo hindi naman mangyayari yun, pero konting push na lang feeling ko mapiplit ko na siya,” the actor enthused.
