Arjo was dragged into the issue when Sarah and her husband, Curlee Discaya, mentioned him as one of the alleged politicians who received kickbacks from the flood control projects.
The actor-politician denied his involvement in this. He stressed that he never dealt with the Discayas. However, photos surfaced that the congressman was with the couple.
In his defense, Arjo Atayde said that it was just a chance encounter. His family was also being dragged into the issue, especially his mother, veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, who flexed some of their properties in vlogs, such as their yacht and rest houses.

However, another “resibo” surfaced on social media against Arjo. Reddit user @Key_Sheepherder1985, under “GigilAko,” shared a photo of an item with a tag, which stated, “Donated by Cong, Arjo Atayde,” but in the center, the logo of St. Gerrard Construction was printed.
In the comment section of the post, a netizen stressed that no one can deny the digital footprint, which was agreed upon by other netizens.
