KaladKaren Marks Wedding Anniversary, Fires Back at ‘Rebranding’ Comment
KALADKAREN – A wedding anniversary post by KaladKaren sparked unnecessary speculation, prompting the TV personality to issue a sharp but witty response to a “rebranding” comment.
TV host and news anchor Jervi Wrightson, better known to the public as “KaladKaren,” responded to online chatter suggesting she was rebranding after sharing a touching message about her wedding anniversary. On September 9, the Frontline Pilipinas anchor took to X (formerly Twitter) to post about a special milestone with her husband, Luke Wrightson.
“One year as Mr. [and] Mrs. Wrightson and thirteen years of love and life together! Our wedding in the clouds still feels like a dream,” Jervi wrote. She continued, “Cheers to deep and enduring love! Because, in the end, love always wins.”

The post marked their first wedding anniversary, a year after the couple officially tied the knot in the United Kingdom in September 2024. Their wedding, held after 12 years together, was warmly received online and hailed as an empowering moment for the LGBTQ+ community, as Jervi proudly identifies as a transwoman.
Her choice of words in the anniversary post, however, sparked criticism from a netizen who suggested she was moving away from her well-known identity. The commenter wrote, “Pangit ng rebranding mo, te. Stick ka [na lang] as KaladKaren.”
Jervi was quick to clap back, replying, “Rebranding where? Wedding anniversary post ‘yan! Wag kang mamarunong at mas pangit ka, for sure.”
The brief exchange underscored how easily personal posts on social media can be misinterpreted. For Jervi, the message was purely a celebration of love, not an attempt to change her public persona.

In general, rebranding means altering or refreshing the way a person, product, or brand is presented to the public. Despite the comment, Jervi continues to be strongly associated with her stage name “KaladKaren,” which became popular after her spot-on impersonations of seasoned journalist Karen Davila went viral.
For many supporters, her sharp yet humorous response served as a reminder that while she may live in the public eye, her private milestones are just as valid and worthy of celebration without unsolicited criticism.
