Sen. Jinggoy Estrada Speaks on Accusation against Him over Flood Control Mess in PH
JINGGOY ESTRADA – The Senator denied the accusation that he allegedly received kickback from flood control projects.
The flood control issue in the Philippines hooked national attention. The discovery of several ghost and substandard flood control projects funded by the government has left countless Filipinos dismayed.

Even President Bongbong Marcos was ‘teary-eyed’ in a podcast interview as he spoke about the sufferings of the Filipino people due to the alleged corruption in the flood control projects of the government. According to the Chief Executive, the Filipino people who do nothing but love their families and work don’t deserve to be punished.
Both the Senate and the House of Representatives conducted their own investigations on the alleged anomalous flood control deals. They invited the contractors cited by Marcos Jr. in a previous press conference and some officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In a previous press con, Marcos Jr. revealed that the Philippines’ expenses for the flood control projects has already reached over P500 billion from July 2022 to May 2025. According to the President, there are 15 contractors that got around P100 billion from the said total expenses on government-funded deals.

Former Bulacan 1st district assistant engineer Brice Hernandez claimed that there are senators who allegedly receive kickback from the flood control projects. He named Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada and Sen. Joel Villanueva.
Estrada strongly denies the accusation that he received kickback from the flood control projects funded by the government. Based on a report on GMA News, he tagged the claim of Hernandez as a life.
“Mamatay man ako, mamatay man pamilya ko, wala akong natatanggap,” the Senator said.
