Man Shot Dead by Brother-in-Law Over Jealousy in Batangas
A 69-year-old man was shot dead in San Juan, Batangas after being shot by his brother-in-law due to jealousy.
Authorities identified the victim as Guillermo Dimaculangan, a resident of Barangay Nagsaulay. The suspect, also 69 years old, was identified as Sireneo, a resident of nearby Barangay Bulsa. The incident happened around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday (September 7, 2025).
Reports say that the suspect became jealous, accusing the victim of making advances toward his wife. The accusation allegedly drove him to shoot Guillermo while the latter was walking along the road. The attack was fatal, and Guillermo died instantly from his injuries.

The San Juan Municipal Police Station quickly launched a hot pursuit operation to track down the suspect. With the combined efforts of the Batangas 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Batangas Drone Pilots, and the Tactical Motorcycle Riders Unit, authorities were able to arrest the suspect within six hours.
The suspect was captured in Sitio Lipote, still within Barangay Bulsa, where he was hiding after the incident.
Police officers brought the suspect to the San Juan police station for proper disposition. He is set to face charges of murder in relation to the shooting.

Some neighbors expressed sadness over the situation. Many were surprised that a personal grudge between two elderly men could lead to such a violent act.
Authorities reminded the public about the importance of seeking peaceful solutions to personal disputes to prevent similar tragedies.
The incident is still under investigation as police continue to gather evidence to strengthen the case against the suspect.
