Young Couple Arrested for Engaging in Indecent Act at Burnham Park in Baguio City
A young couple was arrested after being caught engaging in an indecent act inside the Children’s Park at Burnham Park, Baguio City
On Tuesday evening (September 2, 2025), a 23-year-old male student from Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, and a 22-year-old woman from San Fernando City, La Union were caught in an indecent act at a park in Baguio City.
According to the Tourist Police Unit of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), a security guard first noticed the two showing excessive public displays of affection while sitting on the bleachers near the comfort room.
When the guard returned to the area later that evening, he allegedly caught the couple in the act.
The guard immediately called for backup, which led to the arrest of the couple. They were brought to the Tourist Police Unit for proper documentation and investigation. Authorities are now preparing to file appropriate charges against them.
The incident garnered various reactions from residents and park-goers. Burnham Park, one of Baguio City’s most popular tourist spots, is usually filled with families, children, and visitors, making the act more alarming for the public.
Some netizens expressed concern over the lack of respect for the park’s family-friendly environment, while others felt sorry for the young couple, saying they may have simply made a reckless decision without thinking of the consequences.
Authorities reminded the public that acts of indecency in public places are punishable by law. They also encouraged visitors to help keep parks and public spaces safe and appropriate for everyone, especially children.
