Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Flood Control Issues in PH
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that the flood control corruption allegedly existed already even before the term of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Amid the issues of anomalous flood control projects in the Philippines, the Duterte siblings are in The Hague, Netherlands for scheduled visits to their father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, inside the detention facility of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
It was the first time that all four (4) Duterte siblings were allowed by the ICC to visit former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to Vice Pres. Duterte, it was really a request of the former Chief Executive if they could visit them all together.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is happy over their visit. According to her, their father probably misses seeing them all together. She stressed that there were instances when three or all four of them were talking, thus, they were quiet loud during the said visit.
However, shortly after the Duterte family seemingly had a reunion inside the ICC detention facility, the Vice President claimed that the ICC reminded them of the rules. Based on a report on Inquirer, the foreign court barred them from disclosing information about the visit.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed that she can only say that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is still alive. While in The Hague, the Vice President was also asked about the flood control projects issue in the Philippines now.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos previously flagged 15 contractors for allegedly getting 20% of the total P545-billion flood control projects spending of the government from July 2022 to May 2025. The President found ‘ghost’ and substandard flood control projects in Bulacan.
However, according to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the flood control projects investigation is allegedly “too little, too late”. According to her, the flood control corruption already existed before the presidential term of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
According to her, the flood control corruption issue has “worsened” this time. Previously, she was asked for her advice on the issue of flood control projects in the country but Vice Pres. Sara Duterte refused to give a free advice on the flood control projects issue in the Philippines.
Furthermore, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte suggested that the Marcos Jr. administration should follow what she does in dealing with the flood control issues in the country.
