Statement of Marcos Jr. to New Officials of League of Provinces of PH
MARCOS JR. – The President urged the new officials of the LPP to serve the Filipino people with full honesty.
Not only Pres. Bongbong Marcos but as well as countless Filipinos were left disappointed over the issue of anomalous flood control projects in the different areas in the Philippines. In Bulacan, Pres. Bongbong Marcos was left angry by an over P55-million ‘ghost’ Riverwall project.

Aside from the said Riverwall project, Marcos Jr. was also disappointed by an incomplete and substandard flood control project in Bulacan. He called out the St. Timothy Construction Corporation to explain the said project.
The St. Timothy was one of the flood control project contractors flagged by the President in a previous press conference. According to him, 15 contractors got 20% of the P545-billion worth flood control deals funded by the government.

Calling the country’s spending on government flood control deals as “enormous”, here are the 15 construction firms flagged by Marcos Jr. during the press conference over the anomalous flood control deals in the country:
- Legacy Construction Corporation
- Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp.
- St. Timothy Construction Corporation
- QM Builders
- EGB Construction Corporation
- Topnotch Catalyst Builders Inc.
- Centerways Construction and Development Inc.
- Sunwest, Inc.
- Hi-Tone Construction & Development Corp.
- Triple 8 Construction & Supply, Inc.
- Royal Crown Monarch Construction & Supplies Corp.
- Wawao Builders
- MG Samidan Construction
- L.R. Tiqui Builders, Inc.
- Road Edge Trading & Development Services
Amid the issue of the anomalous flood control projects funded by the government, the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee launched an investigation on the issue. The President also confirmed that his office is already drafting an executive order for the creation of an independent body that will investigate the infrastructure projects of the government.
The officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways are greatly criticized amid the issue. Former DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan left his post and he was replaced by former Department of Transportation chief Vince Dizon.

Newly-appointed DPWH chief Vince Dizon recently confirmed that he will abolish the internal investigation committee of the agency. He will also order the “courtesy resignation” of all officials of the agency nationwide.
Amid the flood control projects issue, at the oath taking of new officers of League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) held at Malacañang, Pres. Bongbong Marcos urged the new LPP officials to serve the Filipino people with full honestly.

Based on a report on GMA News, Marcos Jr. urged the new officials of the LPP to disclose if there are anomalies. He stressed that the public funds are money of the Filipino people.
”Isiwalat natin kung may makikitang taliwas dahil ang pera ng sambayanan ay pera ng bayan at hindi pansariling interes,” he said.
Based on the report, Marcos Jr. also expressed that the Philippines needs leaders who will end the governance’s malpractices. He stressed that there are still issues that need to be solved.
Speaking at the oath-taking of the new LPP officials, the President said the fight is just starting and there is still a long way to go. He expressed his hope that the new LPP officials are with the government in every step, in checking the projects of the government, and in lightening the dark path.
Amid the issue, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto confirmed that he is willing to testify if the Senate invites him to attend the hearing and his LGU exerts efforts to help the chamber solve the flood control mess in the country now.
