In a post, Kiko Pangilinan defends his wife, Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
Senator Kiko Pangilinan called out these anchors of Net 25 after they dragged Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s name in the controversial flood control projects.
Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan criticized Net 25 anchors Nelson Lubao and Gen Subardiaga of the program “Sa Ganang Mamamayan” for allegedly hurting the feelings of his wife, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, and disrespecting her by dragging her name into the supposed anomalies surrounding the flood control projects.
He called out the network and the management. The senator was referring to the segment co-hosted by Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, wherein he aired that he felt insulted by Pangilinan’s backing of a proposed independent people’s commission tasked with investigating irregularities in government infrastructure projects.
He felt that Pangilinan, along with Sen. Panfilo Lacson and Senate Minority Leader Vicente Sotto III, is undermining his committee.
Pangilinan, in his post, Lubao and Subardiaga have “disrespected Sharon and insulted her by dragging her into this issue. She deserves a public apology from the network and your anchorpersons.”
He expressed his wrath, asking them what his wife did to the station and to the anchorpeople for her character to be insulted. He asserted that professional broadcasters do not behave that way. The senator called for accountability, stressing that Cuneta is owed a formal apology.
Yesterday, Lubao expressed an apology to the Megastar “for the pain and distress this has caused.”
Meanwhile, regarding the supposed anomalies in the flood control projects, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto said that these projects have cost the Philippine economy up to PHP 118.5 billion from 2023 to 2025. Recto expressed that this amount is equivalent to at least 95,000 to 266,000 jobs that the people could have benefited from.
“We prepared the NEP with the President to ensure that the projects to be funded in 2026 have the highest multiplier effect. Walang ghost project dapat, walang korapsyon, walang sayang na piso,” he added.
