Richard Gomez slammed the alleged media spin against him
Leyte Fourth District Representative Richard Gomez believed that someone is orchestrating a “media spin” against him.
Gomez has been in public service for many years already. In the past, he served as Ormoc City Mayor. Being a politician, and someone who came from the entertainment industry, it is a fact that Gomez already handled interviews as an actor and as a public servant.
However, in a recent social media post, the congressman cried foul over reporters who wanted to ask him about the allegations from Matag-ob Mayor Bernie Tacoy, based on the article in PEP.
Matag-ob is one of the towns under Richard Gomez’s jurisdiction. In a video posted on August 26, Tacoy accused Gomez of not giving support for the town every time flooding happens.
The mayor also linked Gomez to the flood control project in Barangay Riverside in which the structure was detroyed because of the strong rainfall, a few days ago.
Because of this, there was an exchange of fiery words between the congressman and the mayor. This prompted people from the media to get Gomez’s side.
The actor-politician suspected that this was a “media spin” against him. In a Facebook post on August 28, Richard Gomez showed screenshotis that he received from different news outlets who tried to score an interview with him.
Gomez took noticed of the similarities in the messages he received. The screenshots also showed the names and the numbers of the people who sent the messages. He called these people “ungas.”
“Mahal din itong media spin na ginagawa nila against me. Look at the similarities of the different socmeds and agencies asking questions,” he said.
The congressman also believed that there was someone paying for this. “Alam na alam mong merong nagkukumpas. Alam na alam mong ginastusan. Ayus ahhhh. Gastos pa more mga ungas,” Gomez said.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Richard Gomez went viral because of his controversial statement about a “noisy” mayor. Although he did not mention any name, Baguio City Mayor Behamin Magalong and many people believed that he was the subject of that cyptic post.
A few days after that, Gomez and Magalong met and were able to end whatever issue that happened.
