Amid the issue on the alleged anomalous flood control projects in the Philippines, Marcos Jr. ordered a lifestyle check among the government officials which will start with the officials of the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways). Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte reacted to the order.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands for visitations to her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The former Chief Executive is detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since March.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte supports the “lifestyle check” order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos among all the public officials. However, the Vice President stressed that it should include all appointed officials in the government.
Vice Pres. Duterte also stressed that the “lifestyle check” must be deep and should not settle with just checking on the SALN or the Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth of the official.
“Oo, dapat lang. At hindi lang yung elected public officials ha pati ‘yung mga appointed public officials at hindi lang ‘yung on the surface na sasabihin natin kung ano yung nasa SALN, dapat deep dive,” Duterte said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also expressed that the “lifestyle check” must identify the “dummies” covering the government officials. The order of the President also gained the backing of several members of his Cabinet.
“Kung sino ‘yung mga dummy. Ilabas ‘yung mga dummy ng mga public officials,” she expressed.
Recently, all the Duterte siblings visited former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte inside the ICC detention facility. According Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, it was really the request of their father that they could visit him altogether.
