Security Guard Discovered Lifeless and Floating at La Mesa Dam
A 56-year-old security guard who was earlier reported missing while on duty was discovered lifeless, floating in the waters of La Mesa Dam in Quezon City.
Police reports stated that the guard was last seen during his midnight shift. By around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday (August 24, 2025), his colleague noticed that he was no longer at his post. Concern grew when hours passed without any sign of him, until his body was eventually found behind the guesthouse area of the dam.
Authorities from the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office quickly responded to retrieve the remains. The scene was disturbing, with coworkers and responders saddened by the unexpected tragedy.

The Quezon City Police District has since launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. While no final conclusion has been made, investigators are working to find out whether foul play was involved or if the incident was an unfortunate accident.
The discovery has left many in the community unsettled, especially those who work in the area and knew the guard personally. Colleagues described him as someone who carried out his duty quietly, ensuring the safety of the premises during his shifts.
His sudden passing raised questions and concern, reminding many of the risks faced by people working late hours in isolated locations.
As the investigation continues, authorities have assured that they will look closely into the circumstances surrounding the guard’s death. For now, his family and coworkers mourn the loss of a man who simply showed up for work, not knowing it would be his last day on duty.
