Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Issues Message on National Heroes Day
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President issues a message for the Filipino people on National Heroes Day celebration today.
One of the holidays in the list of Philippine holidays 2025 is the National Heroes Day which is celebrated today, August 25, 2025. It is a regular holiday, thus, classes in all levels in schools are cancelled today as well as work in both public and private sectors.
Today, several events commemorating the bravery and heroism of the Filipino heroes who fought and even offered their lives for the liberty of the country are held. Top government officials have also issued a message for the Filipinos.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has issued her message for the Filipinos as we celebrate the National Heroes Day. Based on a post on the official social media account of the Vice President, she recalled that today, the Filipinos are remembering the heroism of all the Filipinos who offered their lives and strength for the sake of the country.
The Vice President also highlighted their bravery, their greatness, and their unity to achieve our freedom. According to her, through the passage of time, we now have many modern heroes who are silently offering their energy, intelligence, and perseverance for their fellows and for the country.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte lauded the efforts of the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). She also recognized the services provided by the teachers, doctors, nurses, and all the “frontline workers” who are serving in the society. She also mentioned the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are tirelessly working, sacrificing, and diligently working in other countries for their families and the nation.
“Bigyang-pugay din natin ang lahat ng mga Pilipinong nagbigay ng dangal at papuri sa ating bansa. Sinasalamin nila ang kasipagan, katiyagaan, at katatagan ng mga Pilipinong hindi sumusuko sa anumang laban at tahimik na bumabangon para abutin ang tagumpay,” the Vice President wrote.
In her post, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte tells every Filipino who fights for the family, the fellow Filipinos, and the country that you are a hero. According to her, all of us have the capacity to change the course of our lives and the country. She offered her salute for every Pinoy who chooses to be a modern hero.
“Tayong lahat ay may kakayahan na baguhin ang takbo ng ating buhay at ng ating bansa. Pagpupugay ang alay ko sa bawat Pilipinong pumipili na maging bayani sa makabagong panahon. Maligayang Araw ng mga Bayani! Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas — para sa Diyos, sa Bayan, at bawat Pamilyang Pilipino,” Duterte stated.
Aside from the Vice President, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has also issued his message for the Filipinos on National Heroes Day.
