Oil Price Hike Expected on Tuesday (August 26, 2025), DOE Says
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – The Department of Energy announced an oil price hike starting this week.
On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Filipino drivers and commuters will need to brace for higher expenses as fuel companies are set to implement another price increase.
The price adjustment marks the second week in a row that gasoline costs will rise, adding pressure to motorists already dealing with elevated pump prices.

Several major fuel retailers, including Shell, Seaoil, and Caltex, confirmed that they will raise the cost of gasoline by P0.70 centavos per liter, diesel by P0.50 per liter, and kerosene by P0.30 per liter.
The changes will take effect at 6:00 in the morning. Meanwhile, Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will apply the same adjustments, though Cleanfuel will carry them out later in the afternoon at 4:01 p.m. Both firms do not sell kerosene.
Other companies are expected to follow with similar adjustments, but have yet to release their official advisories.

Previously, the Energy Department previously noted that international market movements and recent trading in the Mean of Platts Singapore benchmark signaled another round of increases. Global uncertainties continue to push oil prices upward, creating a ripple effect on local fuel costs.
Just last week, companies raised pump prices by P0.60 for gasoline, P0.80 for diesel, and P0.90 for kerosene. Since the start of the year, overall adjustments now stand at a net increase of P10.80 per liter for gasoline, P12.75 for diesel, and P2.65 for kerosene as of August 12, 2025.
For ordinary consumers, these constant adjustments mean tighter budgets and increasing transport and household expenses.
