Kapuso superstar Marian Rivera just received her first Best Actress award from FAMAS 2025, and here’s what she said about it.
The winners of the 73rd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards have been announced, and Marian Rivera bagged the Best Actress award for her performance in the film “Balota.”
She personally received the award and, in her acceptance speech, she expressed that she is dedicating her award to Filipino educators. Looking back, her experiences in doing “Balota” were “truly unforgettable.” She learned so much from doing it, and she hoped that those who had watched the film were able to grasp the heavy but important message of Teacher Emmy.
In an Instagram post, she shared that the FAMAS night was epic, and added, “Grateful for the recognition and all the amazing people who made it happen.”
Apart from FAMAS, she also received other awards for “Balota,” such as the Excellence in Performance award at the 4th Primetime Media Choice Awards, Best Actress award at the 3rd Gawad Dangal Filipino Awards, and Best Actress award (Film) at the 2024 TAG Victorious Awards Chicago.
This film was directed by Kip Oebanda. It premiered at the 20th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival on August 2, 2024. This was produced by GMA Pictures, GMA Entertainment Group, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, the other stars who bagged major awards at the FAMAS 2025 are Vice Ganda for “And the Breadwinner Is” and Arjo Atayde for “Topakk” who tied in the Best Actor category, Nadine Lustre was the Best Supporting Actress, and the Best Supporting Actor was Jeric Raval.
Kathryn Bernardo was honored with the Bida sa Takilya Award, while veteran actress and lawmaker Vilma Santos received the Famas Circle of Excellence Award.
