Discaya Family: How Rich Are They?

One sports car is not enough for the Discaya family. Here’s what we know about them.

DISCAYA FAMILY – In an interview, the couple showed the 40 sports they own, and this is where their wealth has come from

Failed Pasig mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya and her husband, Curlee Discaya, are under hot water currently following the remarks made by Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto. The Pasig mayor, through a social media post, criticized the interviews of veteran journalists with the contractors who attempted to enter the political arena.

Sotto stressed the paid interviews done, and added, alleging that journalists allow themselves to be swayed by financial incentives at the risk of their hard-earned reputation and credibility. But the young mayor expressed that this pattern can be broken if “more and more of us consistently do our part, wherever we are and whatever are position may be, one step at a time.”

In an interview with Julius Babao, Sarah and Curlee showed the 40 sports cars they owned, all parked in their garage. Sarah, the chief financial officer of St. Gerrard Construction and Development Corporation, revealed that some of her favorites from their collection included a blue Bentley car, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

According to her, the Cullinan is one of the cars she had customized in the interior. She even pointed out that they bought Rolls Royce SUV just because it has a special compartment for an umbrella.

Where did their wealth come from? Why are they so rich? The 40 sports cars they own are already telling how wealthy they are. To hear that they have bought the Rolls Royce SUV just because it has a special compartment for an umbrella might be galling to some, but for them, it simply happened just because they can afford it.

Sarah’s husband owns Pasig-based St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor Development Corporation. They recently drew national attention again after construction firms linked to them were identified as among the firms being investigated regarding the country’s flood management projects.

Other Discaya-linked firms are Alpha and Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp. and St. Timothy Construction Corp. She was the president as of 2023 of Alpha & Omega and was an incorporator or a co-founder of St. Timothy Construction. However, she accordingly divested her shares in the latter in 2018.

The two companies ranked second and third on President Bongbong Marcos’ list. The corruption in flood control projects involved billions, and during the SONA 2025 of the president, he vowed to go after the government officials and their private sector accomplices found in this corruption.

“I clearly saw that there are many flood control projects that are badly done or collapsed. Others were mere illusions. Let’s not pretend, we all know that projects are money-making ventures,” he had said.
