Gerald Anderson shared this description of himself as a director.
ABS-CBN actor Gerald Anderson is now directing and taking up directorial tasks for the series “Sins of the Father,” where he is also the lead star.
Year after year, and project after project, actor Gerald Anderson seemed to have nothing but love for his craft that only deepens with time. He’s been in the industry for nearly two decades already, and with his recent project, he stepped out of the camera to give out his other side when it comes to storytelling.
He took directorial tasks, taking the reins from the learnings and observations he had from some of the industry greats he was able to work with. Being directed by some of the finest, it is no wonder that he is now taking the task behind the camera, as his directorial debut, for the series “Sins Of The Father.”
Just like Coco Martin, aside from being the director, he is also among the leads of the series. He began directing some of the action scenes, and when asked what kind of director he is, he expressed, “Siguro sila dapat tanungin. Kasi alam ko, nag-prepare kasi ako, naghanda ako. So, chill siguro. At yung mga artista kasi ng show na ‘to ay mga magagaling lahat.”
With his current set of actors, he shared that they require only minimal guidance and supervision since they already know what to do and are true professionals. However, being a director is no easy feat. The work behind the camera is just as challenging as the work done in front of the lens.
He is just greatly grateful for the support as he takes this path in his career in the entertainment industry. He said, “It’s not a easy job para sa lahat na hindi lang sa artista, hindi lang sa director, sa everyone. Ang hirap para sa lahat. So, when we get acknowledgement from viewers or pag pinagpanood po ng tao yung show namin, sobrang nagpapasalamat kami.”
Apart from his work in the series as the actor and director, he also takes pride in how relevant the story is, and the social awareness it brings to the viewers.
