PAGASA Says Tropical Depression Huaning’s Trough and Easterlies to Affect Ph Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Tropical Depression Huaning is set to leave the country’s vicinity.

On Tuesday (August 19, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Huaning’s extension and the southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA Weather Specialist Chenel Dominguez reported that Tropical Depression Huaning sped up as it moved toward Japan’s Ryukyu Islands. However, it will not directly affect the country.

Huaning was last spotted 650 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility this morning.

Wala pa rin naman itong direktang epekto sa anumang parte ng ating bansa kaya wala rin tayong nakataas na anumang tropical cyclone wind signal na possible dito sa ating bansa,” Dominguez said.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region.

The tropical depression’s trough will bring similar weather conditions over Ilocos Norte and Apayao.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
