The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has ordered the suspension of a rider from Binondo, Manila, after a video showing him dancing on top of his motorcycle in the middle of traffic went viral on social media. He did the stunt amid a busy road in Manila.

The video caught the attention of the LTO and prompted them to put the rider under a 90-day suspension of his driver’s license. The agency also issued a show-cause order to both the rider and the registered owner of the motorcycle to allow them to explain their side of the incident.

Under the road safety laws and regulations, stunts and other reckless acts on public roads are prohibited and punishable, as this not only puts your safety at risk but also the safety of others.

According to LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division Chief Renante Melitante, the rider is required to attend a hearing on Wednesday, August 20, as stated in the show-cause order. He is the latest to be summoned by the LTO for breaking traffic rules for social media content.

The rider is also required to surrender his driver’s license on or before the said date.

In a previous article, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) suspended the license of a driver who allowed his child to take control of the wheel. The driver was also suspended for 90 days as a penalty for the violation that occurred inside a mall’s parking area.
