Nadia Montenegro On Leave Amid Joint Accusation, Robin Padilla’s Office Defends Her

The office of Senator Robin Padilla placed Nadia Montenegro on leave amid the controversies.

Actress Nadia Montenegro is on leave, according to the chief of staff of Senator Robin Padilla, amid the investigation.

According to an incident report, Nadia Montenegro was identified and accused of smoking a joint within the Senate premises. She serves as a staff member of Senator Robin Padilla, while it was a staffer from Senator Panfilo Lacson’s office who informed security personnel about an “unusual odor” coming from the ladies’ comfort room near the Senators’ extension offices.

Senate President Chiz Escudero ordered the upper chamber’s Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) to investigate the matter, and based on the investigation, there were two incidents of this that had already occurred.

Montenegro denied “Mary Jane” use and insisted that it was just a vape. She was given a chance to explain, and even the office of Padilla is also waiting for her explanation. Contrary to the rumors, she did not resign from being a political officer of their office.

While the investigation is still ongoing, the office of Senator Padilla put her on leave amid the controversy of her alleged “Mary Jane” use inside the premises of the Senate.

Padilla’s chief of staff, Atty. Rudolf Philip Jurado said, “On August 13, 2025, even before the investigation conducted by the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA), the Office commenced an initial internal investigation regarding media reports allegedly linking Ms. Nadia Montenegro. On the same day, she was directed to take a leave of absence, effective immediately.”

As mentioned, their office also launched its own investigation of the matter. Montenegro was given until August 18 to submit her written explanation. This is to allow her to address the matter and clarify herself regarding the controversy.
