Did Nadia Montenegro quit following the accusation?
A member of Sen. Robin Padilla’s staff in the Senate is Nadia Montenegro, and here’s what the office said regarding the rumors that she quit.
In an incident report, Nadia Montenegro was identified and accused of using a joint inside the Senate premises. She is a staff member of Senator Robin Padilla, and a staff member of Senator Panfilo Lacson was the one who approached personnel to report about “unusual odor coming from the ladies’ comfort room near the Senators’ extension offices.”

Senate President Chiz Escudero ordered the upper chamber’s Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) to investigate the matter, and based on the IR, there were two instances in which this had happened.
“Ms. Montenegro denied smoking inside the ladies’ comfort room or using mar*j**na for that matter, but acknowledged possessing a vape in her bag, which she said could have produced the unusual scent reported earlier by Senator Lacson’s staff,” the report read.
Based on a previous article, Montenegro denied “Mary Jane” use and insisted that it was just a vape.
Did she resign following the accusations?
Padilla’s chief of staff denied that Montenegro resigned. Rudolf Philip Jurado of Padilla’s office denied the rumors and shared that she is still employed as a political officer of their office.
He said, “Not true. We have not received any resignation from Nadia. She’s still with us.”
However, she is expected to explain to the OSAA about the incident, and they are, as well, waiting for her explanation. Jurado said, “We are still waiting for Nadia’s explanation. Kasi ano kami, tied din kami. How can we act? We do not know kung ano yung sasabihin nya rin sa incident report as well as the two previous news articles. So we’re still waiting for that.”
They already asked her to undergo a drug test.
