Barbie Forteza has a new movie
Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza channeled her “kontabida” side in the movie Kontrabida Academy with seasoned actress Eugene Domingo.
Barbie continues to reach new milestones in her career in the Philippine entertainment industry. After her back-to-back hit series Maria Clara at Ibarra and Pulang Araw, the actress was given the chance to be the lead star in this Netflix movie.
The movie trailer was released on Thursday, August 14, and this is about a school that teaches the students how to possess those antagonist traits.
In the trailer, Gigi (Barbie Forteza) was seen struggling in different aspects of her life. She is not being treated well by her demanding boss. Gigi also had to deal with the lavish lifestyle of her mother, who is into shopping sprees.
Aside from these, she struggled with her cheating boyfriend. After seeing a TV ad of Mauricia (Eugene Domingo) inviting people to join her academy, Gigi made a decision.
“This is where you will become a true villain. Like all other schools, we have a purposeful curriculum,ā Mauricia said to Gigi when the latter arrived at the Kontrabida Academy.
The “curriculum” included exchange of fierce lines against each other and slapping. Gigi’s other side was immersed, and she embodied a strong persona.
Kontrabida Academy, which premieres on Netflix on September 11, also features Ysabel Ortega, Jameson Blake, Xyriel Manabat, Carmina Villaroel, Michael de Mesa, Yasser Marta, and Pinky Amador. This is written and directed by Chris Martin, who was also the one behind Eugene Domingo’s comedy film series Kimmy Dora.
Meanwhile, Barbie Forteza and her movie co-star Jameson Blake have been linked to each other for months now. It was because of their holding hands photos while they were at a marathon event. This was followed by other instances, and they also showed that closeness at a parking area after an event. They were also together at the GMA Gala 2025.
