Romnick Sarmenta shared a fiery statement
Actor Romnick Sarmenta slammed politicians who allegedly committed betrayal of public trust.
Romnick started in showbiz at a young age. He was one of the 80s child stars who touched the hearts of many Filipinos with his drama scenes. The actor was able to sustain his longevity in the entertainment industry.
Romnick is one of the many celebrities who have been very vocal about their political views.
In a recent social media post, based on the article in Bandera, Romnick Sarmenta talked about the betrayal of public trust.
He pointed out that laws being twisted by politicians, who are supposed to serve the people, is a major offense. Romnick said that this is a betrayal.
“Betrayal of Public Trust would be, for me, one of the highest cases you could file against a public official. Who, by the way, we the people, have mandated to work for us. When the law, supposed to be for the people, is twisted by the servants of the people. That is betrayal,” the actor stressed.
Many netizens supported what he said, but there were those who slammed him as well. A netizen even said that the actor should have run in the elections because of how he is expressing his political views.

Meanwhile, in June, Romnick Sarmenta shared a post that garnered speculations that it was about Vice President Sara Duterte. The post was about someone who claimed to be innocent but hired 16 lawyers. This was during the height of the impeachment case filed against VP Sara.
The actor also had his statement about confidential funds that were allegedly being spent secretly.
