Police Authorities Deployed Around Lanao del Sur School After Student Kills His Teacher

Police officers have been deployed around a school in Balabagan, Lanao del Sur, following the tragic killing of a teacher. 

The police authorities implement a tighter security in the area after the incident. The tightened security aims to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff in the area. 

According to Lanao del Sur Police Director Col. Caezar Cabuhat, both uniformed and plainclothes officers are now stationed near Balabagan Trade School. This is where the victim, teacher Danilo Barba Jr., was assigned before he was fatally shot while walking to work.

Investigations revealed that the suspect, a 20-year-old Grade 11 student, admitted to the crime. The student claimed he attacked the teacher after receiving a failing grade. The incident has shocked the community and raised concerns over safety inside and around schools. 

Col. Cabuhat met with school officials, parents, and students to discuss security measures and to prevent any further acts of violence. As part of the heightened precautions, strict inspections are now being carried out at the school’s entrances. 

Bags and belongings of those entering are checked to make sure no dangerous items are brought inside.
