House Speaker Martin Romualdez called the archiving of the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte a “rushed burial”. He stressed that the filing of the complaint was not done swiftly but the “burial” allegedly was.

Recently, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos who is also a cousin of House Speaker Martin Romualdez spoke about the “burial” of the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The Senator and the House Speaker are cousins as former First Lady Imelda Marcos and the Speaker’s father, Benjamin “Kokoy” Romualdez are siblings.

According to Sen. Imee Marcos, the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is alleged “dead but it’s not really buried”. She claimed that it can still be revived if the Supreme Court changes its decision.

Marcos also claimed that they are just following the decision of the Supreme Court. According to her, if there would be a miracle that the 13 Supreme Court justices will reverse their decision, the Senate will follow.

“Kung may himala na mangyari at mag-reverse ang 13 justices, talaga namang susunod kami dun,” Sen. Imee Marcos said.

Based on a report on PhilStar, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she really wants the prosecution team and her defense team to lay out all their pieces of evidence. However, she stressed that it will not happen now following the Senate ruling.

Previously, amid siding with the Dutertes, Sen. Imee Marcos denied having a “family feud” with Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
