Customer Expresses Sympathy for Elderly Rider Who Delivered His Order After Getting Into an Accident

A male customer felt sympathy for an elderly rider who delivered his order after the latter figured in an accident on the road.

Recently, Ryan Angelo Bolilan Marinda, a Facebook user, described it as one of the worst and most unforgettable orders he had ever received. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.

Marinda explained that he and his partner placed a late-night order for burger meals through a delivery app. It was a small treat to celebrate his partner working from home again after two weeks of being on-site.

Around 11:10 p.m., they placed the order. Nearly an hour later, they received an update from the rider explaining that he was delayed because he wasn’t familiar with the area. When the rider finally arrived, Ryan was ready to enjoy the meal despite the wait. But instead of a casual handover, the man apologized, saying he had fallen off his motorcycle on the way.

Ryan noticed that the rider was wearing a raincoat, visibly wet, and looking exhausted. It was only then that he realized the man was already elderly. The rider even offered to deduct from the payment the cost of the food that was spilled during the accident.

The customer reflected on how, despite his age, the rider was still braving the roads and weather conditions just to earn a living and provide for his family.

Ryan plans to give the rider a new phone holder to replace the one that broke during the accident, wishing him safety and hoping to book him again in the future.

“WORST EVER GRAB ORDER!

Ito na ata yung pinaka worst order na natanggap ko.

Tonight I placed an order via Grab for my partner and I to satisfy our late night cravings, as usual MCDO will do. Ganon naman kadalasan, pero somehow this supposed to be an special one kasi 2 weeks na syang onsite at ngayon lang ulit nag WFH.

at 11:10pm we ordered a couple of burger meals then almost an hour before we received and update with the rider, stating na kaya medyo na-late e unfamiliar sya sa lugar namin. After a handful of minutes dumating si kuyang rider at medyo excited na ako even though late okay lang naman sakin.

Suddenly he stated

“Sir pasensya ka na, nasemplang ako”

Those few words really touched me. Nalungkot ako, I felt sorry and curious sa kanya

He also added :

“Sir, ibawas nyo na yung lahat ng natapon sa bayad, pasensya na talaga”

I was just staring with this rider, naka kapote, medyo basang basa as I look at his face I realized that he’s an old man.

Then I realized…
