5 High School Students Earn Various Reactions Online After They Were Seen Cramming on One Motorcycle in Iloilo
Five high school students from La Paz National High School were caught on camera riding together on a single motorcycle.
Overloading a motorcycle is very dangerous, and it puts everyone on the road at risk. Motorcycles are made to carry only one or two people, the driver and one passenger. When more people ride on it, the motorcycle becomes unbalanced and hard to control.
It’s easier for the driver to lose balance, especially when turning or stopping. Too much weight also makes it harder to steer and takes longer to stop, which can lead to accidents.

Recently, the Facebook page “GMA Super Radyo Iloilo,” shared a photo of several high school students riding a single motorcycle. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the photo, it’s clear that only one of the five students was wearing a helmet. One student wasn’t even seated properly, while another was barely hanging on, sitting on the luggage rack at the back of the motorcycle.
Many netizens expressed their concern over the safety of the students. According to Philippine traffic laws, motorcycles are only allowed to carry two people, the driver and one passenger, also called a backrider. Anything beyond that is not only dangerous but also illegal.
People who saw the photo said that although it might seem like a quick ride to school or home, the danger is real. One wrong turn or sudden brake could lead to serious injuries, especially when most of the riders aren’t wearing helmets.
Authorities have reminded the public, especially students and parents, to follow road safety rules at all times. Helmets are not just for show, they’re meant to protect lives. Overloading motorcycles, especially with young riders, puts everyone at risk, including other motorists on the road.
The school and local officials have not yet issued a statement about the incident, but it serves as a strong reminder of the importance of safety and responsibility both on and off the road.
The social media users expressed their reactions to the post:
