Sen. Bam Aquino Asssured to Guard the Promises of Marcos Jr. for Education
BAM AQUINO – The Senator expressed his call for the Marcos administration and the Congress to make the budget for education “highest ever”.
A week ago, President Bongbong Marcos’ SONA or State of the Nation Address 2025 was held at the Batasang Pambansa. It gathered the members of the Senate and the House of Representatives as well as his Cabinet secretaries.

During the Marcos SONA 2025, Pres. Bongbong Marcos assured the Filipino people that education remains on top of the priorities of his administration. According to the President, the public can expect that more classrooms will be built in the next three (3) of his term.
The President also wants to digitize the schools in the country by extending things like Smart TVs. According to him, the laptops for the public school teachers have already arrived.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also promised additional pay for the teachers for their overtime work and the excess in their workload. He expressed appreciation to the educators. His message about the education remaining as a huge priority of his administration satisfied Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara.

Recently, Sen. Bam Aquino reiterated his call on Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the Congress for a huge budget for educaion to address the problems in the field. Based on a report on GMA News, the returning Senator who heads the Senate Committee on Basic Education appealed to make the budget “highest ever”.
“Well, makikita natin ‘yan sa budget. Nu’ng isang araw, nanawagan na nga tayo na itaas ang budget ng edukasyon, gawin natin itong highest ever sa ating kasaysayan para matugunan ang mga iba’t ibang problema,” Aquino said.

Furthermore, Sen. Bam Aquino vowed to guard the promises made by Pres. Bongbong Marcos for the education during his 4th SONA. Based on the report, he stressed that it must be ensured that the vows mentioned by the President during his SONA will be realized.
“Of course natutuwa naman tayo na gagawing priority ang edukasyon sa mga susunod na mga taon pero kailangang bantayan, kailangang masigurado na ‘yung binabanggit sa SONA nangyayari talaga,” the Senator said.
Previously, Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada seemingly attempted to corner known-opposition Sen. Bam Aquino by asking him if he supports Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
