Newlywed Couple Takes Legal Action Against Wedding Planner Who Ruined Their Big Day
A newlywed couple in Cebu files charges against their wedding planner after turning their dream celebration into a stressful experience.
A wedding coordinator is a professional who helps manage the logistics and flow of a wedding, especially on the day of the event. Their main job is to make sure everything runs smoothly so the couple can enjoy their big day without stress.
Recently, the couple identified as Dan and Diane had entrusted their wedding plans to Elvin Linao Sagario, the man behind the Facebook page “The Bliss Creation Wedding and Events Cebu.”
They were initially drawn in by the promise of a complete wedding package worth P299,000, which was supposed to cover everything from the venue and catering to the bridal car, cake, makeup, and outfits for the entire entourage.
Over time, the couple made several payments totaling P261,000. However, instead of smooth preparations, unexpected charges began to pile up. In the end, they had spent around P361,000 far more than the original package cost.
The most frustrating part came just days before the wedding. Dan and Diane discovered that their outfits hadn’t been fully paid to the supplier. As a result, they were forced to pay an extra P28,000 just to claim their wedding attire in time.
Though the wedding pushed through, many of the services they had paid for in advance were either incomplete or not provided at all. The couple ended up shouldering expenses that were supposed to be included in the package.
When they confronted Sagario, he reportedly tried to flee. Luckily, he was caught and brought to the police station. Dan and Diane are now preparing to file formal charges against him, with plans to pursue a case of estafa or fraud.
