Baron Geisler Breaks Silence: Viral Brawl W/ Kiko Matos Was All an Act
BARON GEISLER – What many believed to be a real-life bar fight between Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos was actually a scripted act for a social experiment film, the actor has now revealed.
Kapamilya actor Baron Geisler has finally lifted the curtain on his controversial fight with fellow actor Kiko Matos, revealing that it was entirely staged for a film project. The once-viral brawl, which shocked many almost a decade ago, was part of a social experiment for their film Beast Mode, which eventually premiered in Amsterdam.
In a recent interview with veteran journalist Luchi Cruz-Valdes, Geisler candidly admitted that the altercation was all for show. “Nung time na kami ni Kiko Matos–– I was hanging out in UP ng madalas. We did a special project called Beast Mode, a social experiment. Nag premiere kami sa Amsterdam so nine months ako naka in character to be as crazy as possible,” he recalled.

Included in those nine months of staying in character was the infamous bar fight between him and Matos. According to Geisler, the two were not adversaries but good friends. He emphasized that Matos would often visit him at home and even celebrate birthdays with his family. “Baron maintained that he is good friends with Kiko and highlighted how the latter would even spend some nights in his home and celebrated his birthday with them.”
The actor revealed that his motivation to participate in the project was partly driven by his frustration with the government’s handling of extrajudicial killings at the time. “Anti-government kasi ako nung time na yun eh. Yung pinagkuhanan ko ng dr&gs before galing din sa mga police ng time na yun. Nung nag kakaroon ng EJK, I was getting mad about the killings kasi nag papalit ulo yung mga tao,” he shared.
Geisler also confessed that he had previously acquired illegal dr&gs from police officers, which intensified his anger towards the system. “Geisler also confessed to acquiring illegal dr&gs from police officers in the past, which fueled his anger towards the killings and motivated him to expose how easily mainstream media can be manipulated.”

Ultimately, Beast Mode aimed to expose the vulnerability of media narratives and how public perception can be swayed by orchestrated drama.
