PAGASA Says Southwest Monsoon to Prevail Over Most Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the southwest monsoon will prevail over most parts of the country.

On Wednesday (July 30, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Loriendin De la Cruz-Galica reported that the southwest monsoon will continue to bring occasional rains over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Rizal.

It will bring occasional rains in the Ilocos region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, and Benguet.

The southwest monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.

“To our countrymen in the affected areas, wherever you go today, don’t forget to bring an umbrella,” De la Cruz-Galica said.

No low-pressure area is being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

“Samantala, wala po tayong LPA o bagyo na minomonitor ngayon sa loob ng ating area of responsibility. At least in the next 2 to 3 days wala tayong inaasahan pero mag-antay pa rin po tayo sa magiging updates ng pagasa. So ibig sabihin, maliban po sa Habagat ay wala pung ibang weather system na nakaka-apekto sa bansa,” she added.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Extreme Northern Luzon will be rough. The western section of Luzon will have moderate to rough waters. The remaining parts of the country will experience slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA
