Jodi Sta Maria and Richard Yap reunited
Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta Maria and Kapuso actor Richard Yap recalled doing the defunct hit series Be Careful With My Heart.
The said series aired from 2012 and 2014. This became a part of the late morning TV habit of many Filipinos for two years. The characters became household names.
Jodi played the character of Maya, who became the nanny of Sir Chief’s children. Richard gave life to the character of Sir Chief, whose love story with Maya bloomed over the years of their togetherness.
Even years after, people still remember that iconic series that became part of the Pinoy pop culture.
Just recently, Jodi Sta Maria and Richard Yap reunited. The Kapuso actor was featured on the Kapamilya star’s YouTube channel for her segment Let’s Drink To That.
“It’s nice to be here with Jodi. I always look forward na magkita kami kasi marami kami pinag uusapan parati. Parati kami maraming kalokohan na pinaguusapan,” Richard said, adding that he missed Jodi’s “pagkakulit” and that she had a lot of stories.
The actress shared that her vlog followers have been requesting Richard as a guest since she started her YouTube channel. In the vlog, they reminisced about working with each other in their hit series.
The actor revealed had apprehensions regarding the potential of the series. “When we started the show, naisip ko if magtatagal itong show na ito kasi sabi ko noon si Jodi lang kilala rito kasi karamihan kami puro baguhan lang, hindi well known na names at that time. Actually, ipinahiram lang ako kasi I was supposedly doing another show,” he shared.
He did not expect the warm reception from the viewers because it was aired at a late morning timeslot. That was the timeslot when only a few people would watch.
“Ayon yung time na madalas mga talk show yung nilalagay talaga until Be Careful With My Heart. Nakakatuwa doon sa mga taong sumusuporta kahit anong time ilagay, sumusunod sila,” Jodi said.
Through their series, they became close friends in real life. Jodi Sta Maria shared that she could say that Richard Yap was one of her closest friends because she had already opened up to him her “hanash” in life.
