Jodi Sta. Maria’s Personal Background
Born on June 16, 1982 in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Jodi Sta. Maria’s real name is Jodi Chrissie Garcia Santamaria. Her mother raised her and her brother as a single parent. She was a student of the Philippine Pasay Chung Hua Academy and she was an honor pupil who was very active in extra-curricular activities. She is both a debater and a volleyball player of the school.
As a pre-requisite to studying medicine, Jodi enrolled in De La Salle University-Dasmariñas. She took Medical Biology but she had to put her schooling on hold for her flourishing showbiz career then. Later on, she enrolled at Southville International School and Colleges to finish her course. Jodi Sta. Maria’s age now is 38 years old.
Jodi Sta. Maria’s Showbiz Career
The Kapamilya actress was only 15 years old when she she auditioned for Star Magic. She’s one of the youngest then but she also had her share of rejections before she became part of the talent arm of ABS-CBN Network. She appeared in teen-oriented shows such as Gimik, Jologs, and Flames.
One of the most popular roles of Jodi Sta. Maria was her character as Georgina in Tabing Ilog. The TV series which ran for almost five years was a huge success and among the other main stars were John Lloyd Cruz, Kaye Abad, and Baron Geisler. Also one of her most notable characters was her role as Maya in “Be Careful with My Heart”.
Jodi Sta. Maria-Pampi Lacson
In 2005, Jodi married Pampi Lacson, the son of Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson. Their marriage was blessed with a son they named after his father and given a nickname of “Thirdy”. However, the couple separated and Pampi has his own family now. Meanwhile, Jodi and Thirdy have wonderful relationships with the new partner of Pampi, Iwa Moto, and their children.
