The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) has lauded President Bongbong Marcos.
The SONA 2025 speech of President Bongbong Marcos was mostly in Filipino, and KWF Chair Arthur Casanova lauded him for this.
President Bongbong Marcos’ 4th State of the Nation Address has been delivered, and he tackled various issues and plans for the remaining years of his presidency. There was one thing that was clear, however, and that was his administration to leave “significant and tangible changes for the better in the life of each Filipino.”

In BBM’s full speech for SONA 2025, Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) Chair Arthur Casanova noticed one thing that made him praise the president: the use of the Filipino language in most of his speech.
According to the KWF, it is important to use the national language to ensure that the message he wanted to relay to the public was clear and understood. Casanova said, “Labis po akong natutuwa na ang atin pong Pangulong Marcos Jr. ay gumamit ng wikang Filipino sa kaniyang talumpati.”
He believes it was only fitting for the President to deliver his speech in Filipino, as he was speaking directly to the Filipino people. Using the national language allowed for clearer communication with the audience, making the message more relatable and inclusive.
The KWF chair further emphasized that future SONAS would be even more effective if consistently delivered in Filipino, as this upholds and strengthens national identity.
“Mas maganda na ang mga susunod na Sona ay nasa wikang Filipino, sapagkat ang ating wikang pambansa ang lunduyan ng pag-uunawaan at pagkakaisa ng ating bayang Pilipinas,” Casanova added.
KWF commissioner Benjamin Mendillo also expressed the same sentiments and moreover stated that the use of Filipino and English showed bilingualism in the language of the Filipinos.
