This is what Sandro Marcos said when asked about signing another impeachment complaint.
House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos would follow Palace cue when asked about signing another impeachment complaint against VP Sara Duterte.
Vice President Sara Duterte faced an impeachment complaint from the House of Representatives. This had become effective after over 200 lawmakers signed it. On the list of the signatories, Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos was on top.

President Bongbong Marcos reacted to Sandro’s decision, and according to him, his son had consulted him about this. However, he did not expect that he would be the first to sign the complaint.
Recently, the Supreme Court declared the articles vs. VP Sara unconstitutional. It further stated that the complaint can be filed again next year. It was barred by the one-year bar rule in the 1987 Constitution, which states that “impeachment proceedings [cannot] be initiated against the same official more than once within a period of one year.”
The House Majority Leader was asked about it hours before BBM’s SONA 2025, and as per him, he will recuse himself from signing another impeachment complaint against the vice president next year. He said that he will take a cue from Malacañang on whether or not to sign.
“We’ll have to see because my role now is Majority Leader. I have to perform a more balanced view. I’m now wearing a different hat so to speak so the answer to that question is I think we just have to wait and see,” he told the reporters.
The president’s eldest said that if the Palace is hands off, he will also be hands off.
What caused this change? He expressed, “I wasn’t Majority Leader then. I’m the Majority Leader now. If my position as Majority Leader will somehow get people to think that the President is involved, I will be forced to recuse myself.”
To recall, Sandro previously expressed that it was expected of him to sign the complaint after the second-in-command threatened to exhume his grandfather’s remains in the Heroes’ Cemetery.
