In Press Briefing, PNP Chief Torre Speaks on “Monkey” Tag of Acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte
PNP CHIEF – Philippine National Police chief Police General Nicolas Torre III reacted to the “monkey” tag of acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte to him.
After acting Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte claimed that he can take down Torre in a fistfight and the head of the national police is allegedly dependent on his position, PNP chief Nicolas Torre III agreed to a “charity boxing match” with Mayor Baste. A boxing ring was set up at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum yesterday, Sunday, July 27.

However, Mayor Baste did not show up as he is reportedly in Singapore right now. Prior to it, he also issued his “own conditions” to Torre for the charity boxing game that he wants. The PNP Chief pledged to donate all of his shares from their boxing match to the typhoon and flood victims.
According to the youngest son of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, he will agree to have a “charity boxing match” with Torre if the head of the national police will be able to tell Pres. Bongbong Marcos to order a drug test among all the officials of the government. Despite his pronouncement, Torre continued with his preparations for the match.

PNP chief Nicolas Torre III immediately hit the PNP gym a day after he spoke about their “charity boxing match” to start his training. He also jogged even under the rain as he prepared for his fight against the acting Davao Mayor.

“Huwag kang mag-alala Torre kasi matagal ko na talagang gusto maka-bugbog ng unggoy… Kung serious ka talaga ha. These are my conditions. Pakiusapan mo ‘yang amo mo na presidente and let it come out of his mouth that all elected officials should undergo a hair follicle drug test,” Mayor Baste Duterte said in his response to Torre accepting his “fistfight” challenge.
Recently, after he was announced a “winner by default” in a boxing match set yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, PNP chief Nicolas Torre spoke in a press briefing and reacted to acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte referring to him as “monkey”. Based on a post of Inquirer, the head of the national police stressed that he has a dark skin complexion as he is a Filipino and there are many Filipinos who have skin like his.
“Dahil ba maitim ako? Pare-pareho tayong Pilipino. Marami namang kasing-itim ko na Pilipino. So, lahat kami unggoy?” the PNP Chief said.

Torre further expressed that he really made a move as the humanity is allegedly lost with things like what Duterte did. Based on the post, he stressed that he “stood up to the bully, the bully ran away”.
Amid a boxing ring really set at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum for their match, acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte wanted to postpone their boxing match and called out to the PNP Chief.
